Process orientation

For this principle, we distinguish two core methods:

  • Value Stream Mapping – Current State: Value Stream Analysis 

  • Value Stream Mapping – Future State: Value Stream Design 

Most companies focus their process optimization efforts on isolated, individual sections of production.

Within the Toyota Production System, however, our focus spans the entire end-to-end process. This means that throughout our project activities, we comprehensively address the entire material flow—from the inbound warehouse to the outbound warehouse. We map all the information required within our company to keep production running, as well as the data exchanged with our suppliers and the information flowing between us and the customer.

Last but not least, while we analyze individual cycle times, we place equal focus on capturing the total manufacturing lead time and the actual value-added time.
