My Professional & Personal Journey

From the Shop Floor to Global Executive Leadership
If you are looking for a standard resume, this might look a little different. But if you are interested in real, battle-tested experience, please read on.
My career began in the year 2000 right on the shop floor, operating a vulcanizing press. It was a rigorous school of reality that taught me the true meaning of process stability, floor discipline, and accountability. Moving step-by-step through various production roles, I discovered my passion for helping Slovak companies optimize their operations, refine manufacturing processes, and navigate complex change management.
While working full-time, I completed my secondary education in mechanical engineering, followed by a university degree in social pedagogy. This unique blend of technical problem-solving and understanding human behavior later proved to be one of my greatest assets. To bridge the gap between operational improvements and financial outcomes, I earned an MBA in Financial Management and Accounting from the Cambridge Institute, enabling me to directly translate process efficiency into P and L impact.
A major turning point came in 2007 during a joint project with Lausanne Consulting. It was a breakthrough experience: I saw firsthand how structured change management can transform both a company's bottom line and its team culture. It was also where I earned the unforgettable nickname "The Secret Agent"—simply because many people initially couldn't comprehend why I wanted to alter their long-established routines. Eventually, those very changes propelled the business to the next level.
Subsequent projects in Germany and the USA provided invaluable insights into how differently people perceive organizational change across various cultures. In 2009, I completed my foundational Lean training and gradually advanced to an expert level, leading countless workshops and independent layouts to redesign workplaces based on lean manufacturing principles.
Another milestone was taking full operational ownership of a production division with 120 employees and a yearly turnover of nearly €25 million. Having the opportunity to work with one team long-term allowed us to build truly stable, repeatable processes. The results spoke for themselves:
Productivity increased from 73% to 85%
Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) dropped from 3% to 1.4%
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) rose from 69% to 77%
Customer complaints saw a significant, steady decline
Equally rewarding was building a highly stable team culture and successfully developing internal talents into higher leadership roles.
After twelve years, a new challenge called: stepping into the role of Operations Director at MIBA Steeltec. The plant combined high-volume automotive production with specialized, low-volume job shop manufacturing, creating a fascinating operational puzzle. In this environment, Lean tools and statistical methods could never be applied mechanically; they had to be pragmatically adapted to our daily reality. This tenure significantly deepened my expertise in executive leadership, rapid problem-solving, and establishing functional corporate systems.
Following those successful years, I accepted an offer to relocate to the USA to drive a complete plant turnaround. It was a major step out of my comfort zone—a completely new environment, a fresh team, and aggressive targets. Restructuring roles, defining clear responsibilities, driving cost optimization, and simultaneously maintaining rigorous Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery was an intense balancing act, but it ultimately resulted in a healthier, more resilient, and highly competitive business.
My last major milestone prior to 2023 was managing the greenfield start-up of a brand-new manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic. The project involved launching the production of composite fiber friction materials with global distribution across all MIBA plants. We successfully brought the plant through serial production launch and stabilized the entire operation.
In 2023, my career expanded further. Initially, I took over the managing directorship of a Slovak company within a major global industrial group. Later, I transitioned into the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for a global company operating in the energy sector. In this executive capacity, I managed the integration of a newly acquired plant into our corporate structure, led operational due diligence processes in Asia, and steered the company's organic growth of 20% to 30% annually. This was an intensive, high-level masterclass in strategic leadership, corporate transformation, and scaling people management across an international group.
I initially conceived the idea of Produktívne.sk back in 2014, and in 2020, it officially became a corporate reality. My goal was—and remains—to deliver solutions to businesses that are simple, purposeful, highly practical, and, above all, sustainable.
I don't believe in running workshops just for the sake of workshops, nor in creating beautiful PowerPoint presentations that end up gathering dust on a shelf. I believe in improvements that tangibly alter the shop floor and deliver measurable results—both in the financial metrics and the energy of the team.
After more than 20 years in the field, I am convinced that stable processes, clear habits, mutual respect, and healthy discipline are the true foundations of high performance. A great leader doesn't solve problems for the team; they build a team that is capable of solving problems better every single day. That is exactly why Produktívne.sk exists—to bring this real-world executive experience directly to your business.
